Patty Storie

Patty Ann Storie (nee Cherneske) was born November 29, 1959 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to father Jerry and mother Pearl (nee Wiwcharuk) and is the ninth of twelve siblings. She moved early in her childhood to Saskatoon where she attended Victoria Public School until the age of 11, when she moved to Edmonton, Alberta. There she attended Bonnie Doon Composite High School. After high school, Patty worked as a hairdresser and later as an administrative supervisor until she married Dwight Storie in 1984. After getting married, she then devoted most of her time to raising her two children, Jessica and Samantha, who were born in 1987 and 1988. During these years, Patty also worked part-time in a medical clinic for six years, which she enjoyed very much till her move to the United States. In 2003, her nephew Jeremy came to live with the family after Wanda, Patty’s sister and Jeremy’s mother, passed away from Leukemia complicated by Lupus.

In 1994, Patty, along with her family, immigrated to the United States and since then has lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and more recently Texas, where she currently resides in the Dallas /Ft. Worth Metroplex. While the children attended school Patty was actively involved in the PTA, school health services, working as a Scout leader of two Girl Scout troops, active with her church and various other venues to support her daughters as they progressed through school.

An avid lover of the arts, Patty regularly could be found working in civic theater and other music and acting venues as both an actor and singer contributing to various local productions in the communities that she lived in. Although she never began a formal career path in the study of pathology and law enforcement, Patty has become increasingly focused on the investigative and forensic study of her Aunt Alexandra’s murder and subsequent investigations that began in 1962. Not knowing her Aunt very well but remembering her as the “beautiful Fairy lady”, her laughter and her singing still haunts her to this day. The once part time hobby has now become a full time obsession which will not conclude until the perpetrators are identified, brought to justice and the mystery solved.

Lorain Phillips

Lorain was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in April 1951, the second eldest of twelve children to plumbing and heating expert Jerry and homemaker Pearl Cherneske (nee Wiwcharuk). As a child, she grew up in the Yorkton and Saskatoon areas, heavily involved in helping her mother in taking care of the family as well as many activities at school, including sports like baseball and track, as well as photography. In her free time, she was also an avid figure skater and dancer, a passion that she had picked up from her Aunt Alexandra in her younger years, and was recognized all over for her various painting and drawing projects which garnered many accolades. In her teen years, a new hobby in the science field appeared and Lorain became interested in learning as much as she could about criminology, a hobby that has driven her through the years to pursue the murderer of her aunt.

In the spring of 1969, Lorain was married to her husband Gary Phillips, and soon thereafter moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where they soon had their two sons, Shawn and Jason.

At this time, Lorain worked a variety of jobs including a position at a hair salon and a dance instructor while also remaining involved heavily in charity work. A third child, daughter Dawn, was born during a move to Edmonton. Over the years, Lorain and her family have lived in British Columbia, the United States and Trinidad. After returning to Vancouver Island, Gary became gravely ill and Lorain spent much of her time caring for him until he passed away in 2007.

Around this time, she was also involved in a terrible car crash that almost paralyzed her, but she fought through and has since managed to only require a cane while walking. Despite these setbacks, Lorain had still remained upbeat and positive and has not let anything sway her from the investigation into her favorite aunt’s murder.
